There is one undeniable fact that we cannot escape; human beings are addicted to that adrenaline rush that comes from fear. We have this compulsive need to find spine-tingling ways to explain the unexplainable. A common trope has developed whereby humans sit around a campfire passing stories on from one generation to the next. It has come to the point where we do not even know where these stories come from but we cannot help but pass them along. It’s a captivating journey with a gut-wrenching path that none of us can escape.
This addiction is apparent in our everyday lives. One of the best selling authors of all time has enticed us with books about cursed pet cemeteries, a demonic clown in a sewer, and even a haunted hotel. One of the biggest box office movies of all time shows a young girl crawling out of a television screen; her only intention is to kill any ill-fated person who has had the misfortune of viewing a grim video tape. There are holidays dedicated to people dressing up as the scariest characters they can think of. Kids hold hands and sing songs about a “ring of roses”, not knowing it’s about illness and death. The supernatural has touched every single one of us at some point in our lives, whether we choose to believe it or not; there’s no escaping the strange, the spooky and the unusual.
Welcome to The Scare Package Blog. My name is Jami and I should start this off with complete honesty; I have absolutely no qualifications behind this, only a love for the unusual and friends who are willing to share their stories.
The Scare Package is a supernatural-themed blog about true-life stories based on the supernatural, myths, legends, folklore, superstitions and even those weird tales your grandma used to tell you.
A new tale will be examined every Thursday.
Until then, unbox the horror by following us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
